Online Payment for Consumer Guide Fees

Each year, the Ohio Department of Aging invoices long-term care facilities for the Long-Term Care Consumer Guide Fee and LTC Ombudsman Bed Fee. The online payment portal is now open for 2019 invoices.

The 2019 Long-Term Care Consumer Guide Fee invoices will be mailed approximately October 1, 2019 to all licensed or certified nursing homes and residential care facilities. The fee goes to support the Long-Term Care Consumer Guide web site at www.ltc.ohio.gov and the Ohio Department of Aging’s long-term care facility satisfaction surveys. Ohio Revised Code sections 173.45 through 173.49 authorizes the Long-term Care Consumer Guide fee.   

The 2019 Ohio LTC Ombudsman Bed Fee invoices will be mailed approximately November 1, 2019 to all licensed or certified nursing homes, residential care facilities, county homes, VA homes, long-term acute care hospitals and Class 2 residential facilities. Ohio Revised Code 173.26 provides that each long-term care facility "shall annually pay to the Department of Aging six dollars for each bed maintained by the facility for use by a resident during any part of the previous year."

If you would prefer to pay in advance, visit the Ohio Department of Aging's Invoice Portal. Options include online payment by electronic check or credit card (2.5% fee applies) or paying by check. To pay in advance:

  1. Visit the Invoice Portal, click Find, View and Pay LTC Consumer Guide Invoices or Find, View and Pay Bed Fee Invoice to reach the Invoice Payment Portal.
  2. Search the spreadsheet under the FAQs for your facility’s customer number.
  3. Pay options:
    1. Online via electronic check (no fee) or credit card (2.5% fee applies): Add selected invoices to your cart and proceed to payment screen.
    2. Check or money order: Use the link “Download Invoice” to print every invoice to send with payment.
